Objective:
Doncaster GTA in conjunction with the LSC (Learning and Skills Council for Yorkshire and Humber) and YTP (Yorkshire Training Partnership) are able to offer an opportunity to your staff, which does not already hold a level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.
Course Content:
The opportunity on offer includes:
- Training your employees for an NVQ level 2 qualification
- Assessing training needs of your staff
- Registration with a qualification Awarding Body
- Information, advice and guidance for your employees
Who Should Attend:
Candidates must be over 19 years of age, in full time employment registered in the UK for the last five years and have no prior qualifications.
General:
Terms and Conditions and Eligibility Criteria
- To benefit from the delivery of First Full Level 2 and Skills for Life qualifications, delivered free and flexibly in your workplace you must satisfy the following criteria:
- All employers except Government Agencies are eligible to receive funding for training through Train to Gain, although priority will be given to employers with fewer than 100 employees who have not previously invested in skills at level 2.
- You agree to pay your employees while they are being released during work time for training.
- To be eligible for wage contributions you must have fewer than 50 employees and not be more than 25% owned by a company with a headcount of more than 50 employees or a turnover of more than €40 million.
- You must agree to release your employees to receive information, advice and guidance relating to the training they are undertaking and any further training and development they could benefit from.
- The employees you wish to be trained re legally employed by your business and you are paying class 1 National Insurance contributions (unless below the lower earnings threshold).
- Your employees must be earning at least the National Minimum Wage and you must supply wage slips or other payroll information is requested.
- You pay Business Rates to one of the following Local Authorities - Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Doncaster, Kirklees, Leeds, Rotherham, Sheffield or Wakefield.
- Your employees are aged 19 or over (under 19’s are eligible for the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme, which is also no cost to the employee or employer, please see the apprenticeship information)
- Your employees do not already have an existing level 2 qualification or more than 5 GCSE’s/O Levels at grade C or better.
- Your employees satisfy one of the following conditions, they are a UK Citizen, an EU National, an EEA Migrant Worker who has been in the EU for the past 3 years, they have settled status (resident in the UK for the past 3 years) or are the spouse of a UK Citizen or person with settled status who has been both married and resident in the UK for 1 year.
- You are not currently receiving funding for the employees you wish to be trained through existing LSC funding, a College or apprenticeship provider, ESF, RDA, ERDF, or SRB funding for example.
