Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration

Entry Qualifications :

There are no formal entry qualifications required, however, you should have a keen interest in business and administration and be enthusiastic about learning whilst working in a company. You must be aged between 16 and 24 to qualify for the Modern Apprenticeship programme.

What Are The Costs :

There is no cost to the learner or work placement company, training costs are met by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).

Course Content :

Learners usually attend the Training Centre one day per week for study towards achieving the Modern Apprenticeship framework which consists:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration (work-based)
  • Certificate in Administration Level 2 (theory and knowledge)
  • Key Skills in Communication (literacy)
  • Key Skills in Application of Number (numeracy)

Learners also have the opportunity of completing added-value qualifications in ICT and the Certificate in Text Processing at Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Levels - subjects include:

  • Text Production (layout of formal business correspondence)
  • Word Processing (business documents using word)
  • Mail Merge (one letter sent to several addressees)
  • Business Presentations (presentations using PowerPoint)
  • Document Presentation (create business documents
