Ladder Safety Training

This course will provide learners with the information about how to use ladders and step-ladders safely. Knowing how to set-up and use a ladder correctly and reducing the likelihood of an accident happening with a ladder within the workplace. Along with safe working practices, knowing how to select, carry out pre-use checks, set-up and using ladders and step-ladders, as well as outlining the steps of a ladder specific risk assessment.

Qualification

 

This in-house certificate doesn't expire, however based on industry best practice guidelines, the recommended renewal period for this training is 3 years.

What will you learn

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of working safely with ladders.

  • Know the legal requirements concerning ladder safety.

  • Recognising everyone's duties and responsibilities are when using ladder safety and who can use them.

  • Knowing how to carry out a ladder risk assessment. 

  • Understand how to carry out pre-use inspections of ladders.

  • Be aware of detailed visual inspections, maintenance and repair procedures and the safe storage conditions for ladders.

  • Recognise the various safety practices you must follow when using ladders and step-ladders, including setting up ladders, stabilising, transporting and working on ladders.
