Vehicle Damage Paint Technician (Level 3)

Are you looking to pursue a career as a Vehicle Damage Paint Technician? At the GTA you will be able to learn how to prepare, spray and finish vehicles that have been involved in collisions and other incidents, efficiently, as well as ensuring correct colour match and final finish.
A great start to your career
On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be able to work within the collision repair workshop, smart repair workshop or mobile repair business working alongside other fully qualified Paint Technicians.
What will you learn?

Understand and acquire knowledge of Automotive refinishing materials such as paint and fillers and their application techniques to deliver quality results.

Dry and cure techniques used in the refinishing of vehicles.

Body Paint Repair tools, equipment and devices.

Safe handling and risks in the management of solvents, high voltage components, conventional and alternative fuelled vehicles and other areas of significant risk.

Legislation in health and safety compliance requirements of the industry.

Understand commercial productivity and efficiency awareness (calculation/estimation of paint volume requirements).

Health & Safety and compliance requirements including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and environmental impact.

Understand the cause of paint defects and use techniques to prevent defects and reduce waste.

Quality control process and the implications of poor-quality repairs.
