The number of vehicle components which are networked has considerably increased the requirements for the vehicle control systems

requirements for the vehicle to be able to communicate with on another. The Controller Area Network (CAN) is todays communication standard in modern vehicles. However there are also different types of other systems. This course is about multiplexing, Controller Area Network (CAN), Data signals, Local Interconnect Network (LIN), Flexray and diagnostics.

Course details

This course is for vehicle technicians that are starting out within the industry or for those who have been working there for sometime and are wanting to enhance the experience and knowledge.

On completing this course you will be able to:

  • Understand multiplex operation, data bus and control functions.

  • Be able to describe the hierarchical vehicle networks.

  • Understand the Controller Area Networks, including F-CAN and B-CAN.

  • Explain Flexray Systems, Data exchange, Physical layer, bandwidth, data rate and synchronisation.
